Although being a Canuck prevents me from voting for him, which I would do as his policy on dealing with the catspiracy is choice, I can at least throw some support behind his campaign and answer 5 questions about my unique attributes....

1. Everything smaller than me that isn't a dog or human is prey. Cats, rabbits, birds, that thing that lives either behind the hot tub or near the composter and makes me go bonkers, fish, flies, mice that are outside of the house (I can't be bothered with the ones inside), frogs etc I have chased them all. Some with juicy success, others have only resulted in scratches and scoldings or weird tastes.

2. Being alone isn't for me. As long as I know a human is around, I'm fine. The one time I was left alone I broke out of the crate and tore at the deadbolt door frame until it opened. Then I waited outside until the boy human got home. When he left me alone with other dogs we did all kinds of bad stuff like eat candles. Now I get to go to Grandma's house every day. Sweet!

3. I like to wake my boy human up at the crack of dawn or even in the middle of the night. Not to mark my territory, just to get outside, and stay out. I would wake the girl human up but I doubt any amount of noise can rouse her from a sleep.

4. I'm not big on toys, I have all kinds but they are just not the biggest deal to me. However, if I find a half ripped, stinky, useless old tennis ball on one of my human walks or skates I just have to carry it home.

5. I have a penchant for expressing self love when I meet new and old friends that I really like. It's just what I do, if you don't like it, don't look at it. If you don't like it and you're a human, you are probably just jealous.

* The rules of tag are: I tell you blogtypes five odd or unique things about myself, and then tag five other bloggers. Hmm, 5 others...I'll get back to you about that...

The Dog House

It's been a while for a post. Please accept my apologies, I am still recovering from my ordeal. I did get to go back to the dog place one morning after all. I saw the furry things with horns on their heads and smelled lots of dogs inside the big building. My humans came inside again and brought my blanket for me to lie on in a little room. Then they poured me some food and closed the door. I didn't see them for 5 more sleeps. I think they tricked me - if this was supposed to be a vacation for me summer camp ain't all it's cracked up to be. The humans at the dog place weren't mean, and I didn't have to play with the other dogs, it just wasn't my regular routine or territory. In protest I didn't really eat for the whole time, I just waited outside in my mini yard for the car or anything else vaguely familiar to appear. I decided that I shouldn't wait any longer.

Then one morning I got led by the dog place human to another room, and moments later I heard my boy human and Grandma's voices. Holy crap did I do a lot of singing at the top of my lungs! Grandma was so excited to see me she was wearing her PJ bottoms....in the car!! I was so glad to get home and patrol the yard and check out my basement. After holding up the appearance of giving the humans the cold shoulder I stuck close to them, not letting them out of my sight until they went to sleep.

Corny

I got to visit a dog place this weekend. The people at this place were very nice and really like huskies. Hope to visit them soon. The humans seem very busy moving stuff around, looking for stuff. My boy and girl human are grounded. You see the other day I was taking grandma out for a walk and I forgot I was with humans... Anyways this rabbit was near by and I wanted to eat him and grandma didn't let go of my leash and she fell. I felt bad because she wasn't getting up. After I sniffed around for a bit she found me and we went home. Another girl human came to visit and they left me alone outside. Do you believe that? They left me alone to go to the hospital. I have been to the hospital before and they let dogs in. I know because I saw grandpa there. Anyways my boy human came home and grandma was still at the hospital. Grandma came home 12 hours later when she came back and I gave her a big kiss. They are talking about an operation and I don't like that idea. When you have an operation they cut off your bits and bites...and nobody deserves that.

It's Thundering Out

It looks like rain so I made a lot of noise and my boy human brought me in. My paw is better and it's nice to be able to type again. This weekend wasn't too fun, my humans took me to PRIDE and Igot to see lots of people and a few dumb dogs. Man those drag queens, and there were a lot of them, yes they look pretty and stuff but what's all this diva shit. I'll listen to my humans punk rock stuff or even hockey before the divas. It all sounds like a wounded dog and I don't like that sound at all. On sunday my boy human kept telling me we were going to see grandpa. I haven't seen him for a long time and I miss him. Well we didn't see grandpa, instead we waited in a big park. There were some other people near by but my boy human was grumpy. He got mad when i peed on some weeds or something that he pulled from ground. Oh damn hockey is on soon. I better go downstairs so I don't have to listen to all the yelling.

Owwww!

On Friday I ran to the fence at my human's mom's house to freak out at the annoying dog next door. When I jumped up on the fence I caught my paw and tore open one of the pads. It hurt alot and I was limping at the end of the day. Then I was up alot of the night because of the pain, and left bloody pawprints all over the place. I couldn't get to the vet today so my humans kept cleaning the wound. They tried to cover it first with gauze, which was unsuccessful, and then a sock while the antibiotic cream did it's work. I stopped trying to walk on it so it was getting a bit better by the end of the weekend. I wish I could run through the garden and play with all of the humans that visited this weekend.

Humans Aint So Good

So i'm a bit pissed off with my humans. Yesterday started with a long walk to the vet. Normally not such a bad thing. However, talk about insult added to injury - not long after my heartworm blood test needle the vet called me 'geriatric'. WTF? I don't think so, and I think my humans would agree that since I am not mature how could I be geriatric? Whatever.

Later that night they went out, and took me to camp grandma's which was nice because she does home cooking for me. We went for a walk and cozied in front of the fire while HOCKEY was on. What the hell is up with humans and their hockey. Don't they understand all that SCREAMING makes me upset?

Well to top it off my humans cheated on me and didn't even bring me. They went and played with more humans and played with Chester and Tara and didn't invite me. They came back smelling like Chester and Tara and humans and I even think they had humans sitting in my car seat. I hope you got covered in hair it serves you right. From what I could tell they also saw The Bayonettes. HELLO, don't you remember they are my friends too? I hung outside at one of their shows and got belly rubs from humans. When my humans are sleeping i'm going to go through their camera for proof.

Happy mother's day...and remember we can't all be mothers and fathers if you keep cutting off or out or bits and bites.

Work Schmerk

Well my boy human has started a new job. Tara and Chester (mom and pup) came from the same place I did, the Hamilton SPCA, though they might be from New Orleans originally. Not sure.

The visit started well enough, friendly butt sniffing and polite play bows. Tara and Chester seemed really happy to play together and I think they wanted me to play. Unfortunately I really like playing with humans the best.

When playing started to get under way I think Chester took offence to me and his ma playing or something. Tara got upset coz he was barking and then all heck broke loose. Lots of wrestling, barking, a bit of nibbling, but not too much fur flying. This freaked me out as it seemed like there were almost 200 pounds of dog mad at me.

Eventually our humans got us settled down, I waited towards the end of the yard and they just stared at me, wanting to play again. Their looks and whines were only interrupted when they barked at people walking by the backyard. I hope our next visit isn't as rowdy as this and we can eventually have a sleepover.

Ahhhh.

As much as there wasn't enough snow to play in this winter I am looking forward to warmer weather. I know he went because I could smell the dogs on him, and I heard him showing the girl human about pictures of them. I don't know where the girl human went. she has weird boots with wheels, like a car but i can't lie down on them. This weekend they were going to take me but I don't know what happened, but the boy human stayed home with me Saturday and bought me pizza. I associate him with lots of friends (dog and human) and good food. The other humans and dogs didn't show but yummy food that smelled very good was made. My bestest begging eyes got me some too. He brought a bunch of doo dads, camera stuff I think. He slept on the couch so I hung out with him all night. The next day we went for a walk down by the lakeshore, it was chilly even with my winter fur on so I don't know how he and my boy human could stand it. There was lots of things for me to sniff down there, like other dogs and geese smells. See BagelHot for more of my human friends photos, as well as Me3D.

WILD CAT WILD CAT WILD CAT

I'm mad at my boy human. My sprawl, bellyrub, and play space is very small. I hope this 'mail' ends soon. My other doggy friend from Toronto, Billi, brought her human and some friends out to play. I also love hanging out with Billi at the cottage but will settle for the backyard. She did her best to teach me how to fetch but as usual I lost interest. Billi has different coloured eyes like me, which I think is one of the reasons we get along so well. We slept on the livingroom floor near her human. I was sad when she
left but I was promised that I would see her soon...

TO Dog Visit

Wow, I was really bummed to hear that my cute doggy friend Lucky had passed away at about 12 years old (always a lady she wouldnt' fess up to her real age). Yes we had some arguments but I really liked her and her friend Ruff Ruff. Last time I remember Lucky visiting she wasn't feeling well, but I also remember having alot of fun with her at the cottage - until I tried to take her rawhide. Down girl! Lucky's human came out with Ruff for some consoling and doggy playtime. Ruff didn't seem like his rambunctious old self but with some encouragement we played in the back yard like old times. Too bad his human locked me out of my basement or else I would have had a real sleep over too. Oh well, next time.

Phew.

Well it took a while for me to figure out the how-to of this thing so I am catching up on my blogging as I look back over my doggy diary full of pawprints and smells which bring back vivid memories. My humans try their best to document these experiences with a camera, which doesn't really hold a candle to the images my nose paints for me.

FROM JAN 1, 2006

Hey Happy New Year! As a super furry husky I was so glad that 2006 started with some snow here in the Hammer. I spent most days outside during the holidays while my humans stayed inside to watch hockey and yell at the television. I don't like loud noises and thus hate hockey, so the few inches of snow was a welcome distraction. When my humans go back to work, and the holidays and international hockey tournaments are over I hope the snow sticks around. I love digging in it, sniffing the yellow spots, making it yellow, and melting a cushy spot to lie in the snow.

Wookie Woof

Hey this blog stuff is pretty complicated for a dog.
